Andrew Selby is an illustrator with an established international client list built over three decades. He has created illustrations for major editorial publications, publishing houses, advertising and design agencies, and animation outlets in the UK, Europe, North America, Asia, Australia and New Zealand.
Andrew’s diverse illustration work is made from his studio in the English countryside. His thought-provoking conceptual illustrations are renowned for their wit and satirical visual humour. Artwork is created quickly from approved roughs, using digital software and traditional gouache, watercolour and ink. Andrew’s illustrations are exemplified by bold colours, striking patterns and playful compositions that allow his work to be used for a wide variety of illustration applications. His work is regularly selected for American Illustration, 3x3 Illustration Show and the Society of Illustrators’ juried exhibitions and annuals.
An established author, Andrew also writes about visual communication in books, chapters in edited editions, academic and popular journals and online. His books Animation in Process (2009) and Animation (2013) were published by Laurence King with co-editions in Spanish, Chinese and Taiwanese.
